@Kings7911: Have you asked your family and friends if they would be willing to go with you? Destination Weddings can be very cost effective as a lot of all-inclusives include wedding packages in peoples stays.

Have you thought of having a tropical theme for your backyard bbq.  I’ve always wanted to do a Destination Wedding wedding but due to Future Mother-In-Law health issues, it wasn’t possible.  So, I decided to get married on a bluff overlooking the ocean and going to a restaurant for my wedding dinner, then bar hopping near the ocean.  All the elements of my Destination Wedding wedding but in the States.  Also my budget is under $6500 and I live in a high cost state.

You can have your tropical Destination Wedding in the States and then honeymoon in Mexico.

We opted for the smaller wedding (total guest list is around 75, we’re expecting 50 – 60). We don’t know anyone with a great yard, so we had to book a venue but we’re still trying to keep our budget fairly small. We considered eloping but I think we would definitely regret not sharing the day with our nearest and dearest.

What did you end up doing I’m curious. I’m struggling with this as well and would love to know the aftermath feeling 😉
