I prefer the softer hue of the Morganite.  But they are both so beautiful, you really can’t go wrong.

I would pick the sapphire. It is harder and more durable. Also most morganite is treated to be more peachy, and the treatment does fade after a while, especially when exposed to sunlight or bright light. I have a morganite ring that is about 7 years old now and it’s almost completely white with a slight hint of pink.

 They’re both lovely stones.  Morganite is cheaper.  Sapphire is stronger.  How hard do you think you’ll be on your ring?  If you have an office job, go with the morganite.  If you have a more hands on job (and will be wearing your ring), go with the sapphire.

ETA: if your willing to look online, and spend time going through loads of sites, you can find some great prices on awesome sapphires.

I love seeing rose gold rings.  That ring is a knockout.  Did you just like the oval setting better rather than the pear?

I was actually looking for pads yesterday; ebay has TONS of them for nice prices.

Pads are so much more durable than morganite; well worth the additional cost in my opinion.

@jcent:  +1 <this>

I would want to know the stone would last as much as possible.. they are both gorgeous though! so I can see the problem deciding.

I would recommend the sapphire.  It’s more durable.

and maybe dont’ focus on the padparadscha color, ask about orange/pink sapphires to peachy/red sapphires.  you will see they are very affordable!
