@araneidae: I wasn’t able to feel my uterus till the middle of week 15, and it was more that when I pressed on my lower abdomen I started feeling an area that was now harder than the rest. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to feel it soon enough 🙂 Now I can find it no problem, but I can’t figure out where all the edges are.

Ok so I layed down to show DH since the doctor showed me how.. the top of mine is right at my belly button (I’m 15 weeks, measuring around 16 weeks) the doctor said it’s about 1cm per week or so, so yours is probably somewhere just below your belly button but I’m not sure at what point it starts to stick ‘out’ enough to feel from the outside.
So the easiest way to find it is lay on your back and move all your clothes out of the way and then start near your belly button, push down in to the flesh and then slide your hands downwards until you feel almost like a hard shelf, all of a sudden it slopes up, that’s what it feels like to me anyway. Hopefully that helps! I was previously just pressing around here and there but when the doctor showed me it made more sense what I was looking for.

I don’t know if mine is tilted forward or what but starting a bit before 14 weeks, whenever I lay flat on my back I can feel/see my uterus bumped up. I can feel it even when I’m not touching with my hands, it just feels like a water balloon floating in my pelvic area haha. Now at 15 weeks it’s even more obvious, but everyone is different and I would definitely not worry especially if your uterus is tilted back.

hmmm i dont really remember feeling mine that early… i think around 20 weeks is when i could actually feel the top. but im not super skinny either so i guess that would make a difference… i definately feel it now. right in my ribs at 35 weeks. ouch. lol. dont worry too much! as long as your doc says everything is looking good i am sure your just fine 🙂 when your uterus is up in your ribs you will look back on this post and laugh a bit im sure 🙂
