I like the first two options best. Have you found any other inspiration pics that speak to you?

I voted for option 1, but would add silver in there as well for a bit more diversity. The advantage of going with various shades of purple is that you don’t have to worry about matching. Trying to get the exact hue to match across different elements can drive you batty, so giving yourself a whole spectrum of purples to work with can reduce your headache level significantly.

    Your picture is lovely.

I definitely think #1 is the way to go. Clean black and creams with lots of different interesting flowers in shades of purple. Sounds beautiful.

@kameasma: I say go with the first option. It sounds very elegant! Touches of silver like a PP recommended sounds nice as well. You could incorporate some of the silver at the ceremony too.

I had the similar colors (black, ivory, shades of grey/silver, and dark purple), but went in a bit more of a modern direction. My Maid/Matron of Honor wore a black sequined lace cocktail dress and it worked very well. She chose to rock some red heels, which was fine by me. Your idea of purple shoes would work well, too. Here’s what we did, just to give you some ideas:

My bouquet: white flowers with a pop of dark purple cala lillies and black & white feather drama

MOH’s bouquet: Picasso cala lilies (white edges with a dark purple throat)

Centerpiece: a runner of mirrors with various heights of white candles and various arrangements of white flowers, mix of regular and mercury glass vessels

Place settings: white linens, silverware, platinum trimmed china, purple placecard with silver calligraphy, purple and silver menu cards with black writing

Signs for everything (e.g. “Unplugged” wedding, “reserved” seating, guestbook): purple and silver with black writing in silver frames

Programs: purple and silver with black writing

Invitations: purple for STD, grey for wedding, purple for newlywed breakfast, black for rehearsal dinner

Me: ivory dress, diamond white veil, silver & rhinestone bracelet, gunmetal & rhinestone earrings, black onyx cocktail ring, onxy/silver/rhinestone haircomb with black feathers

The guys: black tuxed with white pleated shirts and silver vest/tie/pocket square combo

Our families: Gray and black, with splashes of red (though I didn’t even suggest this. Just the way it worked out and it looked REALLY good in photos)

If it helps at all, I posted our teaser photos here:

If you want to see photos of any of the details not featured there, just let me know. I should have our disks within the next few days.

I had a similar issue – the room had blue chairs that i couldn’t afford to cover so all of a sudden I had to incorporate blue into the colors and I was pretty set on just doing pink and purple; So I ended up thinking on a broader scale and doing a more colorful, jewel tone theme, emphasizing many colors and really blinged out decor.

I chose five colors: sapphire blue; emerald green; fuchsia pink; claret red and majestic purple. I looked up so many inspiration boards and photos for help and then created my own inspiration board; hope this might help you –

My favorite choice of yours is #3 – but you really gotta go with what you love!

IMO Black is not VINTAGE, it’s modern. I would do Blush Ivory and Purple.

I like option 1… but would toss in a little ivory. 🙂
