@MsHeatFan:  What about something romantic like a weekend away somewhere? A super nice fancy dinner? etc?

What about tickets to a sports game? Concert tickets?

I think men can be difficult to buy for in general. I’m out of ideas for my own husband.

However, last year for his 36th birthday I gave him something that literally brought tears to his eyes. About a month before his birthday,  I contacted friends and family members of his (and old friends from school days – had his brother help get me names and contact info) and had everyone that would send me a favorite memory of him. I printed 1 memory each on a single piece of paper. Each piece of paper went into an envelope. I tied them up really nicely and put a tag that said “36 years of memories”

He smiled, laughed, etc. while opening each one reading them. And at the end, he had tears in his eyes and said this was the most awesome, thoughtful, creative gift anyone could have given to him. People he’s known since childhood brought back memories of things long forgotten, and he really loved living high school and college memories over again.

@Birdee106:  +1 !  I was going to suggest the “52 reasons I love you” thing too.  Super super adorable.  I’m planning on making one of these for my husband to give to him on our wedding day ๐Ÿ™‚

Men really like experiences over things. Have you considered giving him tickets for two to a game with dinner reservations that you pay for? You could always add a hotel in the city for the night with cute undies afterwards. Or maybe a hot air balloon ride, or sky diving?

My Darling Husband never buys himself anything…because he never wants anything. When I ask for ideas he has no clue what to tell me. It’s super tricky!

Tickets to sporting games and concerts are always a good one. Or you said he has a Macbook air, I’m guessing he probably has other apple devices too…how about something with Airplay built into it, would he enjoy being able to stream his music and videos and such? I know not everyone would, depends on the person. Or is there anything he owns that if getting kind of old that could use an upgrade?

@MsHeatFan:  What about a little getaway? I live near chicago too and it can be so crazy. Maybe a weekend at a cozy cottage with just the two of you. Could be don really innexpensive, too!

Men are simple creatures….. my husband’s most favorite gifts from me are a steak dinner, chocolate cake and then a BJ…… so….yeah

I don’t make nearly as much as he does either, I usually end up getting him a video game or some pajamas if I want to get him something extra. It does get pretty old after awhile (for me, he dosn’t seem to care). This year, even though I told him not to get me anything, he told me that he already got me a gift. I am pretty sure it is a bunch of The Walking Dead books, because I told him I was interested in reading them and I saw him looking at them on ebay…. -_-

@MsHeatFan:  Either pick up some sexy lingerie to wear for him and wrap it up or wear it and put a bow on yourself. Or why not have some nice photos of the 2 of you framed for him?

What relaxes him? you say he works hard so get him something that would help him relax or unwind after a tough day.

@MsHeatFan:  Wow, that is tough! I work at Best Buy so my mind immediately goes to techy things like nice music systems that stream music from the iPhone, awesome headphones with great sound quality that are super comfortable, a really nice case for something he already owns, stuff like that…but it sounds like he already has everything! (My Darling Husband is unfortunately not into technology at all – like he doesn’t understand why I would possibly ever want a smartphone – so my job doesn’t help me pick out stuff for him either, haha. He told me to buy myself some lingerie and give him a BJ…yeah, that’s…nice.)
