Also, Tadashi Shoji. These are all $548, so slightly over, but not by much:

(this one is $280 at the moment – bargain!)

Another obvious option is having a replice of a lace dress you like made by Jasmine’s bridal shop in China. You will definitely be able to get something for under $500.

Other Bees have had quite good things to say about For Her and For Him (another Chinese seller) too – here are some of their lace dresses, all well within your price range:

@Love.Letter:  Have you tried contacting Jasmines (chinese dress maker) and see if they can make this dress for you?  That is s very beautiful dress, soft and flowy.  A lot of bee’s have had Jasmines make them a knock off, and the results are beautiful.  It is worth a shot.

Jcrew has some in romantic silk chiffon!

This is the Arabelle which I LOVE. It’s $575 new but there are usually a ton all over the used wedding dress sites like

http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/

or

http://www.oncewed.com

I also love this dress from dessy.com, but its $660

Good Luck!!

IMO, the three shops in Lex aren’t worth the two hour drive… Could you have something replicated through Jasmines or Dressily Me?

You could def. get a simple sweetheart neckline light flowy dress for about 300 or less, then buy a lace bolero with the neckline you like that comes down to the waist for the effect of the first/favorite dress. That’s what I would do…

have you looked at bhldn.com or shopruche.com?

i think the feel you’re going for both would have something you would enjoy bhldn’s prices are a bit wonky, my dress from there was 420 but I know they have more expenisve stuff- shopruche is much more cost effective of a choice and i have a few friends who got dresses from there as they are street size.

In addition to all of these lovely ladies’ suggestions, I would add looking on discount designer sites (Bluefly.com, shopbop (clearance), etc.). I would also suggest looking on private shopping sites (Gilt, Hautelook, Ideeli, Milliondollarbabes, Ruelala, etc). Good luck!
