What about a wicker basket decorated with ribbons? It could be cuter that the satin ones and fit your outdoor theme better.

I found the cutest shaped black wire basket at a thrift store for$1.  It is the cutest thing ever…a little ribbon…some petals….perfect to go with her dress and it’s black sash!

I am having the same problem.  We’re having our wedding at an architectural artifacts warehouse so everything is a little random and different, and our ceremony is outside.  I’m thinking about going with these…but not sure if people will think it’s weird?  I was also thinking about a grapevine/birdsnest basket to dress up with ribbon on the handle.

I ended up buying a wicker basket from Hobby Lobby and spray painting it.  I didn’t like the satin baskets, and I wanted a black basket to match my colors.  I’m going to tie ribbons on the side as well.

I decided to make my own and it only took about 10 minutes.  I bought a small wicker basket from Michael’s for about $5 and then hot glued ribbon and wired a fake sunflower onto it.  My wedding has more of a rustic/picnic feeling to it, so the satin baskets didn’t work.  (sorry the picture is so huge!)

Mine are Easter baskets that I adorned with fake flowers.

I really like the rustic looking baskets.  I just put the finishing touches on mine.  I purchased a small basket for the flower girl and made a matching basket for the programs to fit into.  I lined each basket with purple fabric to match the bridesmaids and made fabric flowers to go on the outside.  Here is a pic of them before I totally finshed them.  I have been doing most of my DIYing in my classroom (I’m a teacher) and I haven’t had a chance to take updated pics, but you get the idea.  This is the program basket.  The only difference for the flower girls is it’s smaller and the flowers have a pearl in the center of each.

I spruced up a watering can! I found the idea on theknot.com and found an old looking watering can at JoAnns for really really cheap, added some ribbon and a flower and whoolah!

I bought a little wooden basket from Michaels and painted it as well…and then put a layer on modge podge on it to give it a little glossy look…but I haven’t finished it yet…still debating on what exactly I want to do with it! 🙂

@jenn33 – I loooooove those baskets!

We’re not having a flower girl but if we were, we’d totally get those. LOVE!
