For my invites, I just purchased some fun clipart on Etsy and edited the colors to match my wedding. Then I uploaded my design to Vistaprint. Of course, I love owls and knew I wanted to incorporate them in some way so that made it easy to find clipart that I loved.

ETA: I like your Modern/Fall theme idea. My original theme was a very rustic, classic fall theme, but it’s also evolved as I’ve gotten more into the planning. I like to call what it’s become “Autumn Whimsy” πŸ™‚

What about something like this (except maybe a textured paper that looks like burlap) http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://weddinginvitationsandfavors.com/Cover%2520big/Orange-8.JPG&imgrefurl=http://weddinginvitationsandfavors.com/Wedding-Invitation-Covers/invitation-cover-orange-8.php&usg=__vCUsQvjlsvbPOJDKwQ5XZWmgn1A=&h=479&w=640&sz=61&hl=en&start=23&sig2=EwDzUsB8Fl9wBmW7VIDNfg&zoom=1&tbnid=CkepeUov9ZgdiM:&tbnh=147&tbnw=204&ei=wzfyTcvRKsLa0QH7_tnRDQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsilver%2Borange%2Bwedding%2Binvitations%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1503%26bih%3D644%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=140&vpy=237&dur=10022&hovh=194&hovw=260&tx=121&ty=78&page=2&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:23&biw=1503&bih=644

Or how about incorporated your polka dots: http://www.zazzle.com/orange_and_blue_polka_dot_wedding_invitation-161837595968054034

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3569/3769640829_df32e104d5.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugged2death/3391016352/&usg=__7-hUaPvIirVM6Y7RqnKj1cenLwU=&h=333&w=500&sz=116&hl=en&start=0&sig2=8FD8ekTeLLapBpgbkUjNnA&zoom=1&tbnid=fsdhZKOHpT4YGM:&tbnh=133&tbnw=199&ei=STnyTaXcNYbVgQfOjoSqDQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dblue%2Borange%2Bwedding%2Binvitations%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1503%26bih%3D644%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=130&vpy=102&dur=3447&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=187&ty=102&page=1&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&biw=1503&bih=644 And you could tie it together it the bakers twine, like you said, but also dangle a maple leaf from the bow, to incorporate the fall theme.

Hope that helps! πŸ™‚

I have this great new business for invitations. I design it and you print it and arrange it as you want. It’s 50/50 so you don’t have to feel so much pressure to be super creative, yet you can make sure it it what you want.

And because you print yourself the price is low and it is not depending on the number of invitations needed.

Contact me (anyone) and you can get a quote for free at [email protected]

Have fun through the process, it is awesome to get married!

This would be interesting and different.  I made a little diagram.

The idea is that it would be held together by the twine.  And just keep the RSVP card seperate.
