If you like to play in the kitchen I can think of so many things.  I have a favorite knife store that could take care of a few upper end gifts:) Sous-vide machine, icecream machine with it’s own compressor… I can keep going all day,

Often cooks like to entertain, are you sure you have enough of the type of china/flatware to do that, or to cook and serve a big Thanksgiving dinner?

I know you don’t really want more stuff – and it’s refreshing, but if you’re really struggling with shower items for a registry I’d (re)consider those.

I found some of the coolest stuff while I was building our registries! There’s a whole line of things at Kohl’s called Baby Cakes. It’s a line of “mini” pastry bakers… Cake pops, mini donuts, whoopie pies, etc. They’re all really cute and if you like to cook/bake they’ll definitely be useful!

@MrsBeck:  I can keep going 🙂  Seriously, I’m of the impression that cooks can NEVER have too many cool knives or kitchen gadgets! (unfortunately running short on storage space is a real problem)

There are TONS of cool cooking gadgets out there for the kitchen! And is there anything you own that you’d like to upgrade? Higher thread count sheets, more absorbent/soft towels, etc?

@Wonderstruck:  +1 with the upgrading what you already have!

@MrsBeck:  That being said, I have had friends advise I register for these things anyways and just store them away until I move to a larger place. Anyone else do this?

We did this a bit, but we knew we wanted to get a bigger place within a year of the wedding (ended up being more like 6 months after) – do you guys have plans to move or would you be storing them away indefinitely? It’s hard to give more ideas not knowing what you’ve already registered for, trying to think of cool things you may not already have…a Keurig coffee maker, steam mop, trays and such for having people over, or maybe stuff for entertaining outside if you have an area for it…

I thought we would be in this position.  We own a home and will have lived together 5 years by the time we get married, but we realized as we looked at our stuff that most of it could use an upgrade so we ended up doing that.  If not what about registering for a honey fund or something like that?

we registered at kohls and BBB too. At kohls we registered for a kitchen trash can that is motion activated to open the lid. My father has one and I love it. That’s at least one idea for you!

@MrsBeck:  I hear ya – I’m cheap too 🙂

Some stuff I’m excited about: tablecloths, napkins, placemats, immersion blender, sheets, Bose speakers, Pendleton wool blankets, lamps, etc?

Gift cards???
