Have you added seasonal items as well as regular house stuff?  For example for summer you could add- BBQ accessories like a tray, citronella candles, outdoor food covers, beach or deck umbrella, cooler etc.  For the fall/winter holidays, serving platters for family get togethers, things like that.

@MrsBeck:  don’t think of it as getting rid of perfectly good things – – think of it as passing them along to people who don’t have them – – and then donate the gently used stuff to goodwill, etc.

That’s what we did, at least.

I’m of the mind that if you have to really stretch to find stuff for your registry, then those things probably don’t belong on your registry. It’s really not fair on your guests to let them spend their hard-earned money on crap that’s going to collect dust in your closet. You can always set up a honeymoon registry, or consider requesting guests donate to a charity of your choice in lieu of a gift.

What about registering for wine? Or gourmet food items? Williams-Sonoma is good for that :o)

We registered for a firepit from BBB and it’s one of our favorite gifts!  So I agree to think about things for outside as well as in.

I also agree with others saying to upgrade. We had kitchen knives, but registered for really nice ones and I have to say they are amazing.  Same with pots and pans.  If you have some now that are still good, you could put the new ones away for awhile, as you mentioned.

ETA: we did do an Amazon registry as well, and registered for some home improvement items like a drill, saw, etc.  I love them – probably even more than DH!

Another favorite gift was a personalized doormat.

Upgrading is what I did…I have almost everything I needed, but I upgraded to nicer versions of a few things.  New hand mixer, new wine/beer glasses, etc.  I had a kitchen themed shower and everyone brought their favorite recipe, and fav kitchen gadget.  I got some cool stuff I never would have thought to register for!
