I can’t find nude shoes that I like. I can’t wear (in my opinion) shoes that are blue or purple because my dress has cream/taupe sash and underlay (lace on top) and I just don’t think colored shoes go as well with something like that than they would with a dress that is all one color.
Just wanted to express annoyance with the lack of shoes. I have stopped looking because it’s so irritating. What’s so wrong with just getting an awesome pedicure and going barefoot? I am getting married outside. I’m kidding…but really, I’m so over this shoe search I just want to bust out the rainbows and say “f*** it”.

I totally think that you can wear a colored shoe, but if you will feel like it doesn’t go, what kind of shoe are you looking for??

I have thought about it SO much and I just don’t feel like a colored shoe will go…I think it would introducing an extra color in (BMs are wearing spiced wine and nude shoes w/ gold accessories, GMs in charcoal grey) and may look like “too much”, but I could be overthinking it.
I was looking for a nude or taupe colored mary jane pump or other type of pump (maybe with a strap around the ankle), but lots of the nude or taupe ones are so BLAH, way too casual, are patent leather (just no) or have lace accents, which I also don’t want to do because my dress is lace and I think lace-accented shoes would be overkill. Here’s my dress:

ETA: my sash will be taupe, and the underlay will be a nude/cream color (pictured is a taupe underlay, so mine won’t be as dark)

I bought some amazing and comfortable nude shoes from TJMaxx this week. They were Jessica Simpson and they were $40.
What are your parameters?

@BrooklynWife: I’ve thought about that, but can’t picture it in my head in a way that I think looks “right”. Luckily my first fitting does not deal with the hem and length, so I don’t have to have shoes by that time. I’m glad because I’ll get to see the dress again and see it with fresh eyes, and maybe bring a few pairs of shoes I’m considering to get an idea on what I want.

Finding shoes was the hardest thing for me too. I had no problems finding a dress, but shoes….it took me like 6 months! So don’t give up. You’ll find them.

OOhh Get some spiced wine shoes then to go with the bridesmaids! You can totally pull off colored shoes with that dress. They are two neutral colors (the white and champagne)
Find some sort of burgundy shoes, I think it would look amazingggggg!

@mandigrl04: Ohh, THAT is a good idea. I definitely think the spiced wine color would go…but I am apprehensive about introducing a purple or blue into the mix. That’s why I was trying to keep it neutral. And white shoes aren’t that appealing to me, I’m not wearing a true white, so I was trying to match the taupe sash and the neutral tones.

@MrsDrRose612: I’m probably not that helpful, but I’m kind of ignoring shoes too at this point. You’ve got a long dress, whose looking at them anyway? Shoe shopping should be fun right? I’m sure you’ll find something you’re happy with 🙂
