@Dolcebabe:  Best time to get them is when they have their 2 for $20 sales, or if you’re lucky to live near an outlet stock up then!  I just got 3 of the big candles for something like $24!

@mrs_pudding_pop:  hahaha I would never want my house to smell like cookies all the time because then I won’t fit into my pants ever again

It’s probably the Febreeze and maybe the Scentsy (not sure what the latter is but the first one is full of toxins). Personally the smell of Febreeze, although sweet, gives me nausea. Scented candles are also a major contributor to indoor air pollution and I find give the air that “heavy” feel.

We have a HEPA filter cleaning the home air and try to avoid scented chemicals (actively looking for fragrance-free or scented naturally). You can notice a difference when you step in (or out of) the door. It smells “fresh,” un-dusty, un-heavy. It smells more like an “open space” than outside the door. (so I wouldn’t simply call it “the smell of nothing,” it is “the smell of freshness”.)

When we cook, the room fills with the delicious smells of cooking, but the smell doesn’t last much longer than eating the food does, as again, the HEPA filter gets rid of that too.

I’m very addicted to this way of living now and hate to notice lingering odors, or worse, artificial scents, in other places. I dislike going into cosmetics aisles for this reason.

@MeiFrancis:  That would make me wish I had cookies!  And when I get a food craving, it drives me nuts until I get that food.

I use YC tarts. They’re $2 a piece and you can get deals for $1. Make sure you sign up on their site for emails. I use an electric warmer and it smells the whole house up so fast! And with the tarts you can change scents often!
