I still have my old signature. Somehow ABrown turned into (Star)wavy-line so I figure it could be A Anyhing.

Or have you thought about just using initials? My Dh just does his initials with a line.

MrsSpagan:  Sign it all lowercase then.  Your signature can look however you want.  Using a lowercase letter first will make it easier to spot a forged signature since they would be more likely to start with an uppercase letter.

My first initial is S but I hate the way cursive S’s look so I print my S and then sign the rest of my name in cursive.

My new last name starts with an “S” also. I have super curly cursive and my signature is always legible. I have OCD, what can I say? lol. I won’t do a true cursive “S” though, cause I don’t like the way I write them. So I make a curly, sort of slanted printed “S” instead.

MrsSpagan:  I’m the same way with my signature–just do the first letters of my first name and then a line. I joke that I lose letters every time I sign it lol (it’s gotten shorter over the years). So it’s great because I won’t have to worry about learning a new signature. I have practiced a full signature though and it’s weird–I have new letters, like “a” and “z” that I’ve never had in my name. I’ll be going from “N” to “M” though, so fortunately that’s fairly similar.

The first and last letter of his last name are capital. They are going to be all lower case in my signature (it does bug him when the third letter isn’t capitalized).  I don’t like the signature any other way, and this way it is almost the same as I sign now. Do it all lower case if it’s easy!

I know what you mean!  Suddenly I’m 13 again, scrawling “Mrs. MynameHisname” in the backs of notepads at work, haha.  I know I need the practice!  But it is so, so ugly still.

My current signature is not true cursive, but hybrid print/cursive- and while illegible, is illegible in a way that’s pleasing to my eye.  When I attempt his last name, it resembles a 2nd grader’s first awkward attempts at cursive.  Such a shame after spending years carefully crafting my scribble.

I hate my new signature- my last name now starts with a B and my B just looks awful! I loved doing my old S!

I don’t let it bug me though- the only thing I sign consistently are receipts. And most of the time I sign on those electronic thing and my signature always looked like crap on there anyways. I’m at the point now where I just scribble it and don’t even try to make it look pretty.

My first wedding anniversary is coming up fast and I can’t say my new signature is absolutely perfected yet! It doesn’t help that I have the longest and hyphenated name in the world AND typical “arty” handwriting but for sure, I tend to start things off with a huge showy flourish and then realise I have run out of space before I get to the end!
