- Wedding: October 2013
Hi Bee’s! I’m after your valuable opinions again! I love the idea of an outdoor garden picnic ceremony, and have two venues I am tossing up between – I NEED to make a decision by this weekend!
A bit of background – council parks are not suitable as the council will not allow decorations for weddings. They will come and move a wedding on. I LOOOVE picnic ceremonies, but still need tables and chairs as we have older people who cant sit on the ground.
The options are:
A) The local rowing club venue: 10 mins from reception venue – this is an old style wooden building on a river, with pretty gardens surrounding. Comes with tables and chairs. Cons – would need to be an ‘inside picnic’ (is that dumb?) and can only book for a few hours so not much time for decorating the way i would really love. Cost – $300 hire.
B) My parents gardens (sorry, not many photos, but its better than just this):25 mins from reception venue – My parents have a beautiful landscaped garden on 1 acre, and have an old colonial style 2 story house. I would have as much time as I need to decorate, and can decorate to my hearts content. I also have tables and chairs i can borrow from the local community hall. Cons – its a little further away from the reception venue, and you have to drive through a really shitty suburb to get there. And no back up plan for rain. Cost – Free!
Thanks so much – I really need help deciding!
