Do you have a picture of your ring? My ring had almost no matches.  We’ll probably get my band custom made at the place we got my ring.  It’s pricier but he told us if we bring in some scrap gold it’ll make it a lot cheaper if that helps you at all.

I had a hard time with mine too. I purchased a band that I thought would work, but when we took it in to get sized and showed the jeweler what I wanted, they said it wouldn’t line up the way I wanted it to with my other ring. Luckily, the girl that we purchased my engagement ring from was there, so she let us exchange the wedding band for one that we are getting custom made to fit. She wasn’t available the day we purchased the original wedding band, but she did remember us and knew exactly what I was looking for. If you want to wear your engagement ring with your wedding ring, you are probably going to have to have a band custom made.

@cosmocity: From the look of your ring, it looks like you are definately going to have to get a custom band. Your ring is beautiful, but I don’t think you will find a matching band, unless the jeweler it was purchased from happens to have one.

My ring is an odd shape, and because I felt we had already spent enough on the engagement ring we just went with a very simple 2mm white gold band.. it’s tiny, but it goes well with my ring.. It would have come down to getting a custom made band for my ring as well. Toooo expensive!

My engagement ring was purchased at Shane Company, so we purchased my first wedding band there too. They also do some custom work, so we just traded my original for the custom. I suggest you check with your jeweler to see if they can make a custom band that you would like and/or call around to other jewelers to see what they can do for you. My custom band is going to cost almost the same as the original, but it will depend on the style you want as to how much it will cost for a custom band to go with your ring.

I couldn’t find a wedding band that matched my e-ring either, so we had one custom made!  Most jewelers can do it for you – maybe you can go that route?

@cosmocity:  We’re going to go through the store we got my ring at (Reeds).  We just have to figure out when to make our appointment for and he said he’d do sketches until we’re happy.  He told us that if we have anything that goes in the band (gold, diamonds, etc) in jewelry we don’t need/want/use, it’ll bring the price down for us since the materials are a lot of the price.

A simple milgrain eternity band would probably work.

Your band doesn’t have to match. I’m purpasely chosing a mismatched-but-coordinating band because I like the eclectic look better.

Or your jeweler can custom-make a band for you. Just meet with him and he can give you ideas and price quotes.
