I suppose any weight loss board, forum, blog could be seen as that by someone with that frame of mind. Even if it were called healthy-spiration there would be sick girls that would fuel their sickness with it. Bringing it up over and over in a post where the OP is talking about toning and being healthy and the other PP that stayed on topic did also taints it for those of us that have a healthy body image and just plainly want to be motivated to be healthier. Not trying to be nasty about it but not everyone here sees things in an unhealthy light and putting negative attention on it could ruin it for someone. Obviously I have issues with getting knocked off track. lol

If you look at the “How I lost the weight” part, it says she exercised, changed her eating habits to 5-6 small meals a day, and oh yeah-she became vegan.  I definitely could not do that personally.  Not sure if that means all of the people there became vegan or not, but that really isn’t an option for me. To be perfectly honest, most of the vegans I know look sickly skinny.  Plus, I just could never give up meat. haha

@Jennawesbren:  I agree. When I lost a legit 30ish pounds in about 5 months, you wouldn’t believe some of the rude things people said to me. It was ludacris and really insulting.

I just want to point out that “thinspiration” is a term that started a few years ago on pro-ana websites, where the thinspo was usualy very very thin or emaciated girls. I know now it’s starting to be used a bit more mainstream in some cases but I still think the origin is very disturbing and that is still what most thinspo is.

@Paiger8:  “I know right!? I’m like how did these girls do it!?”

Sorry, but if this is a real “thinspiration”board my guess would be not eating, laxatives, and throwing up

A blog entry title -> “Do whatever it takes, whenever it needs to be done, regardless on whether you feel like doing it or not.”        ……

Please don’t look at extreme before and afters. You have no idea how they went from point A to point B. It could be healthy, it could be deadly. It is not helpful… it might be addictive to look at but it will mess with your mind.

ETA: I just checked out the blog and went to the “skinny leg thinspo” this is regular pro-ana thinspo…. maybe not extreme, but a lot of those girls are probably sick. please don’t use this as an inspiration….

Flagged this. I am guessing you, OP, didn’t realize it when you posted, but this is pro-ana stuff. And for those who have suffered through with eating disorders know that posting this on a board with woman trying to lose weight for their wedding can be destructive.

<3 to anyone with weight or eating issues.

I think it would be a great idea to remove the link & picture but keep the conversation going.

@Paiger8:  Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚  it’s been nice to see some of my old clothes fitting a little better ๐Ÿ™‚
this might be the worst advice ever, but become a waitress.  That’s really all that’s changed.  And I got an app on my iPhone to record what I eat.  Between being on my feet and running around for hours, smelling like food all day (which makes me not want to eat as much because it can get pretty bad by the end of the night), and recording everything I eat (which makes me want to eat less because I don’t want to go through the trouble of recording all my little snacks AND it makes me more conscious of how much food is the right amount so I overeat less), I didn’t really change anything.  I’m sure if I stuck to a better diet and if I actually exercised, I’d be losing more but 8 pounds in a few weeks isn’t bad ๐Ÿ™‚

We see the flags (well barely, the questions are making us blind Wink) but if you click the link it clearly says at the top IMPORTANT: This is NOT a pro-ana or pro-mia site.  So, if this blog inspires anyone to be healthier, more power to ya.  Just please, be safe and healthy about about. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Lillindy:  Seriously?

It may say that. But it is. Most pro-ana websites all give you the same shpiel. I doubt it’s going to inspire anybody to be healthier. But stuff like this is for sure extremely harmful for members on the Bee who are struggling with eating disorders. If your receiving several flags for this, Im a bit shocked that this would not be moderated versus other things that are moderated around here.

@teabiscuit:  This. The site that called Kate Upton fat declared themselves “not a thinspo site!!!!” except that they had “skinny tip of the day” or some bs that was straight up pro-ana.
