So, apparently, I am the new public enemty number one at my job. Which means that my hours have been cut by more than half because my store manager just doesn’t like me. Mostly because I refuse to indulge his tantrums and childish behavior on the book floor. I don’t think anyone who thinks it is professional to confront employees loudly and abrasively in front of customers should be in a position of power.
He has been nothing but rude since day one. He hangs up on employees, throws tantrums if he is asked for backup to the registers, throws tantrums if people (read: just me) don’t do certain things a certain way. It’s ridiculous. I am so stressed out, I’m not sleeping, I’m sick. I feel like there is nothing I can do, because I found out the last time anyone tried to call corporate on him, 6 people got fired and 5 walked out.
It’s insane. I shouldn’t be working for a freaking toddler.

Aww. Maybe you should rescue your sanity by starting to lay the groundwork for a new job.

I feel your pain; I have been thinking about having t-shirts printed with a picture of my face with a big red X through it saying “offical member of the I hate Kat club” for a few of my fellow co-workers. Then I decided, “f*&% them if they can’t take a joke”. If your do your job well there will ALWAYS be people who are jealous or hateful of you. Sometimes I feel like I work in a kindergarten rather than a restaurant but in the end I am proud of wht I do, and I know my boss’ are. Keep the faith and stay strong, chances are he’ll be gone before you can blink.

Thanks guys, unfortunately I don’t think he’ll be gone, he seems to know somebody high up, because no matter what he does, to employees or customers, they always take his side.
Right now, since I’m 7 months pregnant, I’m just looking for a way to work from home and escape the stress and the bullshit.
