I’m a big fan of Oriental Trading Company for cheap things like this in bulk…here are their large personalizable tote bags…

http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-large-nonwoven-neon-color-tote-bags-a2-47_979.fltr?prodCatId=388632&tabId=1

$31.50 for 24=about $1.30 a bag, not bad!

And as for other things to put in them, what you’re putting in them so far sounds great. For some other ideas:

-maybe some local tea/coffee and creamer and sweetner

-a list of favorite restaurants/entertainment in the area for out of town guests

And I love the idea of putting a lobster lollipop in your bags:

I second the lollipops.  Its good to have something salty (chips) and something sweet.  You could also do salt water taffy.

I got canvas bags with screenprinting from Vistaprint with a few $17 for $70 of merchandise groupons.  Cheaptotes.com is cheaper if you don’t have the vistaprint coupon.

@Blblew:  What about some little packets of Ocean Spray dried crasins?

Many local resorts down there use the CapeAbilities Buckets as welcome “baskets”. I’m not sure how you feel about that. It isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world, but you could always re-bag it. AND write it off on your taxes, AND do some good.. Here is a link, just a thought.

This is an old post so I’m not sure if you’re still looking… but I ended up finding a custom printer on EBay that made beach bags for us with our “logo” and date on them. (I think they worked out to be $2/bag. They’re made from reusable grocery bag material but look like a beach bag). Message me if you’re interested and I’ll send you the printer’s info!

Also, Salt Water Taffy is another big Cape thing.

I’m including sun screen in mine, as well as some of the necessities guests might leave at home; like advil, TUMs, tide to go wipes, etc…
