Hello everyone!
My fiance and I are getting married on 10/25 this year and I would LOVE to have caramel apples as favors.
This would definitely be a DIY project for 120 guests (on the guest list now, invites haven’t gone out. I’m guessing about 105 will come).
Has anyone ever done this? I want to keep it very budget friendly. I found Daffy Apples and can buy all the caramel I’d need for about $50, then I’m guessing that apples would be $50-60.
Does this seem realistic? What has been your experience with it?

I think it is a great idea. Any elderly family members attending with false teeth? lol

Awesome idea! It’s definitely something I’d like to do, but I haven’t put much research into the details yet.

I’ve made caramel apples, but only a small batch. They’re kind of a pain in the butt… but I usually use Kraft caramels and have to unwrap/melt them down.
On the same Daffy Apples site they have ones that are pre-done for about $1.75 each. This might be one of those things that’s worth a little extra expense – seems like it would be about $75 bucks more than making them once you account for shipping/handling.

If you can get them for $1.75 each I would do that instead of making them. It’s not just the $50 for Caramel and $60 for apples ($110) you’ll need sticks, cellophane and ribbon too. I’m guessing you’ll spend $200 plus your time and frustration to make 100 of them….

@kaykayy: Oh my goodness, my friend did this and it was the worst part of being in her wedding party. The bags she bought ended up not working out and all her bridesmaids (SEVEN GIRLS) ended up making candied apples for five hours two nights before her wedding. She is the DIY / crafting queen too. It was terrible and she totally regretted it.
I know this thread is old but you still have time to switch your mind.
