I am a size 5.5 and my center stone is a 1.25 but my halo is definitely chunkier than most so it’d probably be close to a 1.5 with a thin halo.

ETA: I also didn’t read your post at first lol. I’ve lost both of my parents and Fiance has lost his mom. We designed my setting to include diamonds from both of our moms wedding sets. I completely understand how sentimental it can be and I wouldn’t trade my ring for anything!!

sugarbaby:  It sounds like the price is right and it has sentimental value, so do it! I’m so glad it works for you ๐Ÿ™‚ Many bees would be thrilled to have a 1+ carat diamond.

I have a three stone ring that is 2+ carats on a size 3 finger. I personally have a non diamond and another ring that is cz (berricle.com) as stand-ins when I feel like a big ring is not the best idea (ie traveling, working out, working with tools ect). The non diamond ring is a band and was $10 at a fair. Options are good ๐Ÿ™‚

My finger is a 5.5 (maybe a tad smaller). My center stone is 2.14 cts. I thought it was huge when I got it, but now I’m used to it. I think that 1.5 is the perfect size!!

From that photo, I think it will look perfect with a thin pave halo. I pretty much have the ring you are describing (round stone, thin cushion halo). It’s a 2.2 center on a size 7.5, so probably pretty close to what yours will look like with a 1.5. Yours might have a teency bit more coverage, but should be pretty similar.

    I don’t have a halo, but I have a 1.71 center stone on a 4.5 finger, so personally I think a 1.5 with a halo on a 5.5 finger would be perfect!

You’re seriously worried about your diamond being too big…?

Girl go for it!!  Mine is a 1.75 radiant on a size 5 (slightly smaller after sizing) WITH a halo and it’s perfect.  I wouldn’t worry about a diamond being too big.  It will be beautiful.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’d take a picture but I’m in desperate need of a manicure.  It’s horrifying.
