I’ve finished the basics on my card box, yay! But now it’s time to add some embellishments to make it neater. I’m planning on writing "CARDS" across the heart somehow, possibly with glitter glue/fabric paint. It’s a little tough there cause the paper I used on that part is glittery, so I have to do something that works with the texture. I’m also thinking of sticking one of my leftover butterflies from my cake (floraltrims.com) on top of one layer, like it just landed there. My theme is focused mainly around daisies and tons of COLOR, so I wanted to incorporate some fake daisies somehow. Possibly around the bottom layer, since the purple gingham’s kind of plain. White or pink if I do them there? White is pretty, but pink would tie the whole thing together a little, so the color changes aren’t so disjointed. I had never even heard of card boxes till I saw this site- http://www.do-it-yourself-weddings.com/wedding-card-box.html, and then I just had to have one. What do you think? Lots to consider! Any cute ideas? [attachment=122453,3706] [attachment=122453,3707]

Those are awesome!! Thanks a ton! Makes me even more glad I’m making my own tho. Mine would cost $100 on that site!

I would keep the embellishments simple. Maybe some ribbon and a few rhinestones or fake jems?

I actually like it as is- if you wanted you could add a bow to the heart, or write you and your SO’s names and wedding date. It looks incredible!

I had no idea card boxes could be so elaborate.
I like your cardbox. Have you thought about using those scrapbook large letterings for the word "Cards"? I have seen them sold at Micheals or Joanns craft stores. Maybe you could stencil out larger letters?
the link Miss Texas provided showed a picture of a decorative gift box that leaned against the middle tier box…. Maybe you can put a Card of your own on it that said to place the cars inside, or of a thoughtful musing of your own? Or a picture of you and your new hubby on it (in a quasi frame) leaning on the second tier as an added touch? And maybe a personalized monogram on the bottom box? Geeze- I am still in wonder at how elaborate these things can be…
Good job btw!
