We had maybe 5-10 cash cards at a wedding of 30.  I think if you have a slot for cards in it, people should get the hint.

I would only have it out at the reception, usually people don’t bring gifts into the ceremony since it’s usually at a different location.

@soon2bhis – Your post made me grin!  Smile  Most people are aware of what a card box is, especially when placed on the gift table.  However, if you want to make it more obvious create a sign to place near/on the box.  In terms of how many cards to expect, I would estimate about half of your guests will give checks/cash.  You just need to be sure that the hole on top is wide enough for big cards and deep enough for them to fall inside securely.  Hope this helps!

I’d guess we had about 50 or 60 cards at our wedding with 130 people.  Our card box was on the gift table, but we didn’t lable the table.  Luckily our card box said CARDS on it:

We had probably 40 cards at a similar sized wedding.

Ours was pretty big.  I bet most people say, ‘where should i put my card’ and then someone feels smart saying, ‘put it in the card box’.

Make one with a slot so no one sees how many are in there.  (Maybe this helps prevent theft too).  Since I am on a photo-uploading blitz tonight, I’ll try to find a pic of my card box.

We received about 30 cards out of 150 people. We also put our card box on our gift table. We didn’t label anything either, but I’m sure people asked our DOC where the gift table/card box was. Or you can clearly label yours like Soonerpsych did.

not really a pic of the card box

but you can see the table where the gifts are in the back? Look above the lady’s back and you see some flowers? That is the top of our card box.  Our decor lady made it out of three boxes stacked, and then wrapped in birch back, with flowers on top and a slot near the front at the top for the cards.

@soon2bhis – Maybe the lack of cash-gifts is a Canadian thing, eh?!  Just teasing!  Wink  Maybe we, American’s, are lazier and find that it’s easier to write a check than take the time to select and wrap a gift.  Who knows!?!?  (P.S. This wasn’t meant to offend anyone…American’s or Canadian’s).

@soonerpsych – You’re card box is C-U-T-E!
