I made my card box using a poly satin fabric. Now im trying to attach a sheer satin ribbon to the fabric. Should i use hot glue? Im nervous that it will bleed through in a weird way. Glue dots would not hold the ribbon in place. Help!

Do you have any left over satin fabric to test hot gluing the satin ribbon to?

Doing that now, its not looking promising….

I would use clear double sided tape, glue will soak through and make the ribbon darker, depending how sheer your ribbon is though, the tape might show, so I’d think about using pins.

Either use spray adhesive to attach it or double sided tape. The spray adhesive is great and shouldn’t bleed through if you use it like spray paint in a thin layer. Hot glue and fabric generally do not mix.

I’d use a fabric glue (like Tacky Glue) that dries clear. You should only need some in the back where the ribbon will/may overlap, and whatever you use will hardly be noticeable. Hot glue will also work, but since your wedding isn’t for a few more months, the hotglue may come undone.
Do you have any pictures?
