We used a birdcage/candle holder that I bought at Ross or Marshals or one of those stores. It was probably $10, and I just added some fake flowers for funsies.

My mom is making mine. It’s a large wicker basket with netting wrapped around it and tied at the top with with bow matching my decor. It has a slit in the middle to slip the cards in.

Just a warning about your card box.  My friend held her reception at a local hotel, and they guaranteed the security of gifts and card box.  One of the hotel employees stole the cards out of the box when he was supposed to lock it in the safe.  This employee was eventually caught due to a security camera.

The couple had to contact guests to find out who had given what, and then fight with the hotel for over a year to get them to pay up.  They finally went to the newspaper with their story.  I assume to avoid bad press, the hotel paid them for their loss.

Make sure someone is reponsible for the card box and DO NOT leave it by an open door.

It is nice to have a pretty card box, but it is much more important to make sure it is secure and safe from theft.

We are using two; the one that looks like a book will be used for our wedding advice cards and the one that looks like a chest will be used for gift cards.
