Were having our engagement photos done on thursday and im second guessing myself on my more “formal”outfit…its a pretty dress with a lace top cardigan, my fiance is wearing a muted turquoise button up and khaki pants, brown shoes….i have yet to find shoes to wear with my dress……please give our honest opinions. As i am more plus size i do not feel comfortable not wearing a cover up….maybe i could add a belt to dress it up a little more? Our other outfit is more casual, nice jeans and tops!
Side view- (NOTE** hair will be down, i am not put together at all when taking these pictures lol)
Holding up Fiances shirt/tie to see the 2 together 🙂

I love the dress. And I love, love, love the lace in the cardigan. I would suggest maybe a cropped cardigan instead of such a long one or belting the dress and cardigan together to define your waist.

A cardigan would totally work with that dress. Just not that particular one. It’s way too long and I guarantee it will make you look stumpy in your photos. I learned that one the hard way…
I would try it with a cardigcan that ends an inch or 2 below your bust. That would look more proportionate.
I also think it looks really cute without the cardigan! Maybe you can take some picture with and some without??

I’m thinking a shorter cardigan and a belt would look great. Match it with a nude shoe since you and your Fiance are wearing contrasting bright colours~
I had a similar dilemna between short and long cardigans. In the end I went with short and a thicker belt:

I love the dress but I think the cardigan is too long.

@star_dust: I agree 100%, a belt around both the dress & cardigan to define your waist would be lovely.

Your profile shot indicates you have a great waist, so I think you need to belt the crap out of that cardigan 😉 Can you try that and take another picture? I feel like the look would be vastly improved by some waist definition.

no, its too long, just does not look right!

Pretty dress, I love that color! I think you should go with a shorter cardigan and define your waist with a belt.

The cardigan is nice, but it’s so long it hides the pretty dress. First, do consider at least a few shots without the cover up (after all, you can always toss those shots later if you don’t like them). Second, think about a bolero or a cardigan no longer than your waist. That darling dress should be more visible!
For shoes, you could do some cute strappy sandals, or pumps. The dress could go in either direction. Maybe beige or gold?

You do not look plus sized in that dress! Your outfits are bright and colorful- perfect for spring. The long sweater is a bit too long and loose however.
I don’t know where you live, but Old Navy has cropped white cardigans.

The short one is much better! Very cute. I just had my e-pics a few weeks ago and I wish I had worn a cardigan. Good luck!
