Hey Canadian bees, where did you end up buying your cardstock from? I looked at cards and pockets but the cost of shipping was the same cost as the cardstock itself! So I’m back on the hunt. Specifically I’m looohing for a red cardstock to make our pocket folds from. I think I can pick up the off white color for the inside fairly easily at Staples or Walmart. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Michaels has sales on their card stock occasionally and then there is a store in cloverdale called essential packaging

Are you actually in Vancouver? I buy stuff online and then have it shipped to Blaine and then just pop across and grab it. There’s various shipping/receiving companies that usually charge about $2.50 per package. Lots of companies have free/cheap shipping within the continental US so it works.
I ordered my stuff from papersource, but they don’t have free shipping most of the time. But I ordered enough that it was still worth it.

Hey! Just thought I’d add that Paper Circle isn’t too bad when it comes to shipping costs. they’re Canadian, located in BC I think.
Check out their FAQ page for shipping costs.

If you’re sending to Blaine we use The Letter Carrier. You save so much money that way on shipping and it’s pretty convenient. Just need to register your info ahead of time.
Essential Packaging has a website http://www.essentialpackaging.com with a lot of their products. It’s definitely an option we are considering as well although Cloverdale is a little bit far for us…
Where are you guys getting your stuff printed? So far we are going to try diy and screen print our own invitations (my fiance is really good at that kind of thing) but just in case it somehow goes wrong, I wouldn’t mind a backup… I wish letterpress wasn’t so expensive!

Hey everyone thanks for all your responses. We ended up going with Michaels for our off white and got it on sale for 2 packs for $7. Then we ended up getting the red cardstock at a small paper shop in Nanaimo.

I just wanted to follow-up and say that we ended up buying our cardstock online straight from the source! The store Essential Packaging uses a brand called Envelopments and their website http://www.envelopments.com is really easy to navigate plus the prices are slightly better. We ended up ordering from the site and shipping across the border to save on s/h fees. We also did it this way to save on time as Essential Packaging orders for this brand are almost always special order and they quoted me 4-5 weeks for arrival and we didn’t have that much time to spare!
