Since my one friend’s first response was “well you wanted something different.” Said in a rather snide tone I guess mine counts. I love it though and he picked it designed it himself.

Nice post! Everyone loves showing off their rings. 😉

I get told mine is “unique” quite often. 4.something natural white sapphire in a bezel setting. Really thin silver band. I love it!!!

@marzipanda:  OMG, I have that exact same opal ring!  Mine was a gift from my mom.  She originally got it as a graduation/wedding gift from her brother.  🙂  I wear mine as a RHR, and it was my “something old” at my wedding.  I love opals!

Mine isn’t that unique but I have gotten a lot of comments from people, even strangers that say they haven’t seen anything like it. I just smile and say “thank you” not knowing if they really like it or are just being polite. It also has the traditional Scott Kay hidden stones on the side…

I know it’s a halo, which some people don’t see as being unique, but I since it’s a tulip and has claw prongs, I think it’s pretty special 🙂

I’ve been told that mine is not an engagement ring. How annoying, right? Sighhhh.

I wanted a ring that was yellow gold, because I aesthetically prefer it. I wanted it to cost very very little, and was preferably antique/vintage. My personal values are against excessive spending and consumerism. For me, that personally meant staying under $100, and buying a pre-owned ring so as to not cause any further human or environmental damage. A nature motif was preferable, as that holds special significance to Fiance and I. We looked online together and found this vintage ring on Etsy, for $85. As a bonus, it happens to look remarkably alike to my great-grandmother’s engagement ring, which I am supposed to inherit but it is way too delicate for daily wear. So this one is kind of a reincarnation of the family heirloom…kind of, lol.
