My boyfriend and I decided in the beginning of this year that we would seriously talk about getting engaged this year. Over the past month, we have enjoyed searching for an engagement ring together. I know, it completely bucks tradition, but he wanted me to be involved in the process to ensure that I truly loved it. Honestly, I would have loved whatever he got me, and I resisted helping him at first, but now it has become a bonding moment between us. There is a sense of relief knowing I have some say in it.
Anyways, I have always known that I wanted to go the nontraditional route when it came to an engagement ring. I am not a diamond type of girl. I have always wanted something that not only encompassed my personality, but also seemed to have a “vintage, antiquey boho vibe.” Being born in September, I have always been partial to a sapphire…but my favorite color is mauve, or a dusty purple, so the search for a stone that color has proven tiresome.
In our research, we stumbled upon the Natural Sapphire Company’s website. I fell in love with the various colors and shades of the stones that seemed to come close to what I have been dreaming of.
My only problem is this: Being that I live in Florida and can not make a day trip to New York to check them out in the person, I am concerned the stone colors will vastly differ in person;
Also, I am curious about the settings, and find it a touch hard to visualize them on their site. Something about the way they are presented makes it hard for me to imagine what it would be like on my finger.
So…ladies (and gentlmen), I need your help! Care to share pictures of your rings purchased from The Natural Sapphire Company!? I would be eternally grateful!
