I am a chemist, and am currently in grad school pursuing my PhD in chemistry. It’s a lot of work and I virtually have no life other than school (and wedding planning!) but I love it!

I have a business major plus MBA. I’ve been working for the past nine years in major financial corporation, mostly crunching numbers and writing database codes. My title keeps changing but the best way to describe it would be Data Analyst Manager.

I work in HR, specifically in University Relations and I love it.  However,  I don’t currently like my job. (understandment of the day)   I hope to find stay in my field at another company.

I’m in school for Social Work. So I guess that would make me a Social Worker, I love it 🙂 We’ll see what job I’ll end up with in May though!

Used to be an organizational psychology consultant, then changed careers to interior design. When the bottom fell out of the design industry, I landed a job in corporate real estate/strategic planning. It’s a nice mix of the two, but I do miss the creativity involved with doing design!

@Chiotilidieo: Aww, thank you! My college degree is in culinary arts, and my minor was in hotel/restaurant management.  Right out of college I started in sales/event coordination for a large chain hotel.  From there I became the wedding specialist/sales manager.

In August I resigned and started as the wedding director for a florist, and recently started taking the steps to go out on my own.  I have the contacts and the ambition, but am working on building the faith in myself 🙂

If you’re interested in something similar, my best advice for you is to take some local classes, work on certification (pain in the ass – I am STILL working on having all the necessary parts to being certified) and get experience – offer to tag along for free, offer to intern, etc.
