We live in the SF Bay Area and used Jon Casey (http://cartoon.guru). I really loved how they weren’t very cariciture-y (but some asked for them to be, and he obliged!)

lexipediabride :  Just saw you are in the DC area. Jon is actually from Richmond, VA and visits from time to time (my husband and I now live in Richmond too). Perhaps he may be here at the same time for your event!

I had 1…to be different…photo booths were so hot when j got married! I had 1 of those too, but the caricature artist seemed to be really be loved. He was really good & nice too. Here’s our drawing!

annelise210516 :  I’m not into the caricature idea but the silhouette artist is really unique!

I’ve been to two weeding that had a caricature artist.

In the first wedding the guy drew my sister and me – and we never actually got the drawing – I thought we will receive it later from the couple – dunno – never got it.

In the second wedding – the line was so massive I didn’t even bother going…

I really liked the silhouette cut-out artist that  annelise210516 posted, that looks cool!

But caricature artist doesn’t excite me… if you don’t want photo booths another cute options is setting props for people and they’ll take pictures with them – in another wedding the bride/groom left cute props and we just took pictures with them in different locations… I thought it was very cute and not expensive…

It’s totally a matter of personal preferences. I hate caricature artists, and I also hate magicians at weddings, but that’s just me. If your group of guests would enjoy it, go for it!
