I’m hoping I’m just being silly, but did anyone buy their gowns at Carlisle’s and have an issue with the date your gown is supposed to be in pushing back by months? I ordered my gown at the end of November, 2011 for my wedding on 9/15/12. It was one of the gowns from their house line, and I just love it (similar to Enzoani Diana.) My consultant said it would be in in April, and told me I’d have to go to the new location to pick it up (they were still in the Strip when I bought my gown.)
I called at the end of April after not hearing anything and was told my date had pushed to May, and that they would call me when it came in. No explanation was given. I called again the first week in June and spoke to another lady who told me it hadn’t come in and was due in July, that the supplier was behind and this had been addressed. When I asked about having enough time for alterations she said not to worry because they don’t even start alterations until a month from your wedding date.
Have any other bees experienced this? Am I just being too OCD or do you think they forgot to order my dress?

My first thought was that they forgot to order your dress or something maybe happened in the move? It’s now July, I would call and if they don’t have your dress you need to speak to the manager/owner and find out what happened.
If they did forget to order it but are still going to get it in on time then they should just say that- although no store would ever admit that.

Agreed – I’m calling today to make sure a manager or the owner will be in so that I can talk to them. I’m planning to go there after work and see what the deal is. Wish me luck!

I bought my dress there at the beginning of June and they said it would be in around December or January.
I’m a nervous person as it is, so I hope I didn’t make a mistake ordering there!

Aw Stace126, you should be more than OK – you are on the ball! Just make sure you stay on them…I worry that by only calling once a month after the original due date that I missed something else I could have done. Honestly I still think this was probably a case of someone forgetting to order the dress in the first place.
I stopped there on Tuesday after work as I’d planned without calling and the consultant said my date had pushed to the end of July! When I asked her if there was a back up plan given that my wedding day was less than two months away she told me she “wasn’t worried” about it and no back up plan was necessary since the dress would be in! I’d also been looking at veils and when I asked about ordering one she said they wouldn’t order one for me since it would take three months (!) to come in and there wasn’t enough time. By this point I was pretty heartsick and frustrated, so my MOH and I left with plans to call back in the morning and talk to Jan, the manager.
I called on Wednesday and spoke with Jan, who promised me my dress will be in within the next two weeks and that she would call me with tracking once she’s notified the dress shipment has arrived at customs. I want to believe this will work out, but I can’t shake the feeling I’m out of luck here. I told her I’d call back August 3rd if I hadn’t heard from her, so we will see.
As a precaution I am going to another bridal shop this weekend to try on some gowns and veils they have in stock…hopefully I can at least find a back up!
