I went to an event at the Museum of Crime and Punishment about a year ago that was catered by Carmine’s.  I thouhgt the food was good but heavy and greasy but that may have just been the selection.  I had a meatball and some cheesy pasta dish. Food was served reception style, not sit down.  The servers were all nice especially given how hectic it was, there were a lot of people attending the event.

The catering isn’t super elegant. Food tastes fine but it’s not pretty food to begin with, and once it’s been trucked around in huge aluminum pans, it does suffer a bit. I’d be fine with using them for many other occasions, but consider them more suited for nicer office parties than to even a very casual wedding.

Gepetto in Bethesda do a nicer job, although still not super elegant. Not sure if they’d come all the down to the District though.
