I saw the pic of the martha stewart bouquet a few weeks ago and LOVE it! I was shocked when I saw the expensive flowers are so Im going to use the white carnations for my bridesmaids and red for me.

I don’t understand why some people look down on using carnations.  I think they look awesome, especially a full bunch tightly clumped together like the bouquet above.  I thought about using them at my wedding, maybe for some centerpieces, and the only reason I’m shying away from it is because I’m worried people might think I’m being cheap.  Maybe I should just not worry about what others will think…I think they are so pretty…and they’re inexpensive…it sounds like a win-win to me.

Thanks studentbride – I was going to, but realized I was running out of time and energy, so I had them made. My centerpieces were also carnation puffs (that’s what the florist called them) and they were beautiful. I had two bouquets, ten centerpieces, one large centerpiece for a table, two bouts (those were button mums, tho) and it was $225. Like Tulip said, that’s a win-win!!!

carnations are one of my favorite flowers. they bring back a lot of memories for me. they also smell wonderful! i don’t see why people make such a big deal out of using them for arrangements or bouquets? i would use them in a heartbeat.

I love carnations! I seriously don’t get why they have such a bad name.
