I am 100% sure this has been posted before, but I care not today :D. Does anyone have any pictures of great carnation bouquets? I have just crunched the wedding budget and basically calla lillies are out and carnations are in. Sam’s club has 150 stems for $66.67 including shipping if anyone is interested….
The wonderful Mrs. Flamingo did a post on how to DIY the carnation bouquet
I think these will be cute with purple and black feathers what do you-all think? or I could do a maribou around the ribbon wrap and my bouquet holder there because I am quickly falling in love with the fluffiness

I was going to mention Mrs. Flamingo’s bouquet when I read the title of the post! 🙂 My cousin just got married 2 weeks ago and they did the same thing with carnations (except as centerpieces and flowers for the church), but theirs were in pink and they were lovely!
By the way, have you done a Google image search of “carnation bouquets”? There are a TON of lovely ones to drool over!
One of my favs…
And a lovely centerpiece option…

@Lillindy: yep I did the google search, but wanted to see real pictures from people who had real experience and well how many do folks usually use is the real question lol!! I LOVE the last picture that you posted and well with 150 carnations I may be doing some half pomanders as well lol!!! (my mom’s gonna kill me :D)
I also love the martha stewart one.

If you desire you could practice with a few from the grocery store and tint some of them if you wanted a little color. Just cut the stem fresh and use food die in water. It will tint the edges of the leaves.

I love when carnations are bunched together. It has such a lovely affect. Good choice!

I don’t know if I would be up for tinting them, the thought of it bleeding on my dress would stress me beyond belief lol!! I am squeamish like that…
@trugem: aren’t they fantastic?! We have a flower market at home but I am not sure how much more inexpensive the flowers would be and honestly carnations are my first love. The very first bouquet I ever did was a small one with red carnations… I think the carnations would be soo fun with bling in them and feathers lol!!!
