I’ve been experimenting with centerpieces for my brother’s upcoming wedding, and came up with this half-carnation pom atop ikea’s famous “vasen” vase. each arrangement needs about 30 carnations. the total cost per centerpiece is about $17.
does anyone have any suggestions for making this idea for half the cost?
thanks for your help!

You could use larger flowers to cut the expense-? mums, or make the pom from tissue paper.

If you want a 9.5″ tall straight cylinder vase, they have them at the dollar tree for a dollar each! They aren’t as pretty as those you have shown. The have some other vases there too, I’d check them out.
Also, a lot of brides have mentioned fiftyflowers.com here (im pretty sure that’s the site) you might get to buy carnations in bulk for less.
Also, get 50% off coupons for Joanns and Michaels to buy the pearls in their wedding sections half off.
Those are my best suggestions! Good luck

I don’t have any suggestions, but it’s gorgeous.

I second the dollar tree vase and using fiftyflowers.com. When is your brother’s wedding? Around Christmas dollar tree has long strands of “pearl” garlands for a dollar. That would lower your costs too.

Here is a 9.5″ vase from the dollar store, and it kind of has a unique shape to it. I think it could be cute.
