So when I read the title of the post I was like “noooooooooo nonono no.” But seeing that picture has changed my mind a bit. I think that looks very nice!

I love the look of tons of carnations bunched together, when done right.  So fluffy!   Go for it.

Carnations are BEAUTIFUL. There are a ton of beautiful photos out there. I would definitely recomend them. And they are very hearty and hold up well.

People think of carnations as cheap but they look seriously lush in big groups.

@kjo:  We used carnations as a supplement to our BM’s bouquets, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an entire bouquet of carnations… which might be why I was initially against it. But maybe the key for DIY is to wrap the entire stem like in the picture you posted?  You could do a trial run and see how it goes. Post pictures and keep my updated!

Seriously, the all-caps were totally neccessary. I especially love solid colored bouquets tied with a ribbon like that–so beautiful, AND affordable! The inspiration you chose is one of my favorite bouquets I’ve ever seen 🙂 If I was actually doing flowers, I’d fo sho go with carnations!!
