Nope–Carnival has kits that you/your loved ones can buy as part of their bon voyage program. If bought, they will decorate your room. The only decorating you get “for free” is if you have your wedding with Carnival then they do something like chocolates on the bed and swan towels or something “romantic”.

Also if you write to Carnival’s Senior Cruise Director, John Heald, on his blog he might send a bottle of champagne or something chintzy like a ship on a stick.

Just got married October 22 and we are going on the Carnival Ecstasy cruise Dec 10th for our Honeymoon. It’s the 1st cruise for both of us and we are so excited, but so nervous.  I get motion sick easily lol, so I have been reading everybodys adivce on take Bonine or using Seabands. Does anyone know where I can get Seabands?  Anybody on here going on the Carnival Ecstasy out of Port Can, FL on Dec 10?    CONGRATS to all the soon to be brides and newly weds.

We have cruised on NCL x2 in the last 3 years, and are looking at Carnival for our honeymoon next year. NCL gave out motion sickness tabs at their customer service desk for motion sickness. I dont remember what they were called. They were great though. They were non-drowsy, you could drink while taking them. You took one every 12 hours. Does Carnival have these as well? Or does anyone know of the name of them?

@labluver: Are you referring to Dramamine? Carnival doesn’t give it out at Customer Service, but I think they sell it in the gift shop. It’s one of the differences between Carnival and the others.

Bumping. Getting closer to honeymoon cruise and I can’t wait! It’ll be my first cruise too. This thread is FULL of great advice!

Anyone know the odds I’ll get sick from something on a cruise ship? FI’s dad just told me about a few of the major ships having people really sick with some sort of virus….I could always google it!

@Mrs.Elivs:  There are tons of hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere around the ship so you can use those. They also have paper towels right by the door in the bathrooms so you can open the door without touching it. I wouldnt worry about catching a virus….I would make sure you are prepared for seasickness. Buy dramamine and the seasickness wristbands before you go on the cruise. They upcharge like crazy in the gift shop and I’m pretty sure they only have dramamine and not the bands. It also sold out REALLY quickly!

I work on ships.
it is called the Norovirus and it does SUCK if you get it. Pretty much you will be on the toilet in bad pain for 24 hours.

that being said, it is just a bug and goes away after 24 hours. And Carnival isnt one of the ships that is affected right badly right now. It usually gets worse on ships with older people…. Holland Celebrity and ships sailing in Europe. Plus, it is usually just a few dozen people affected out of thousands.

Just wash your hands A LOT and use the sanitizer and you should be fine. I also think some people are just more immune. My husband has worked on ships for 8 years and never gotten it.

have fun!
