KapOct18:  For quality, Royal Carribean is the way I would go. So much nicer in terms of surroundings, service and other patrons. Princess also isn’t that bad, from what I’ve been told. If someone gave me a *free* ticket on a Carnival cruise, I would probably turn it down.

I’ve never been on Royal Carribean, but my Fiance and I have been on Carnival and we’re planning  a cruise to Alaska with them for our honeymoon. We loved Carnival. I think it just depends on what you like and what you’re looking for.

We’ve done Princess now twice (once Carribean and the other Mediterranean) and don’t have a bad word to say. Both times were amazing, super high quality food and service. Honestly, I asked a few staff members if they would come home with me. I’d pay them a very high wage to cook the same meals for me, they were wonderful! my inlaws cruise with Princecss once a year as well and have never had a problem. As others have said, it’s all about what you are looking for. But for what it’s worth, I would sail on Princess in a heartbeat.

You get what you pay for.  I went on a 4 day Carnival cruise to Cozumel for $125 and it was exactly what you would expect.  The fellow passengers were rowdy and the ship was run down.

I’ve cruised on both, and you couldn’t pay me to cruise on Carnival again. The ship was rundown, the staff were meh, the food was kinda gross, and they were constantly trying to upsell us something. Don’t get me wrong… Ropyal Caribbean nickle and dimes you, too, but at least they are not pushy and in your face about it. RC had really good food, the staff were just lovely, and the ship was very nice.

KapOct18:  fi’s grandparents are huge into cruising like they go multiple times a year and they’ve been with every major company. So when my mom and I wanted to go on a girls cruise it was a no brainer to ask them who to travel with. My mom had been on royal Caribbean and loved it but we asked anyways and they said always always always royal Caribbean. They were not wrong! the service, food, and entertainment was out of this world. We went to the Bahamas on our cruise and it was probably my favorite vacation ever. Also, we stayed down the hall from a couple honeymooning and we sort of became vacation friends with them. The cruise staff really made a huge fuss over them and made a big deal that it was their honeymoon, pulled out all the stops! They had a big welcome sign on their door, champagne, they congratulated them at dinner, they got lots of recognition at the entertainment events and were pulled up on stage for various activities like the newlywed game, etc. I’ve heard carnival is fun too just not as high quality and more of a big party while royal caribbean feels more fancy. So I suppose it’s what you’re into and i know youd have a good experience with either but we had a blast and you can’t go wrong with royal Caribbean! Good luck picking!

I’ve only done royal and I have loved it everytime. My parents rent on carnival and it was awful. I have never personally been on it though but everyone I know said it was a party boat or had a lot of issues so I have stayed clear. I have borhjng bad to say about royal! Amazing!

I’ve done both and prefer Royal Caribbean. We actually sailed with Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. They had a special honeymooners get together with champagne, cake, and dancing which was really nice. The food was great. We loved the atmosphere of the ship and the fun activities. We had such an amazing time. It got my Darling Husband hooked on cruises (I already was).

We love going on cruises and have cruise on both royal Caribbean and carnival.

For your honeymoon I strongly suggest royal Caribbean. It is a lot better as far as the quality of the ships, staff and entertainment.

Carnival is more of a party cruise and it shows as far as the patrons that sail in these ships.

I have sailed Carnival and loved it. I am not a party person but had a fantastic time. The ‘rowdiness’ of the crowd also depends a lot upon the time of year you go and the length of the cruise. Smaller 3/4 day cruises tend to be more ‘boose cruises’ so I would suggest staying away from those.  The entertainment will be better on Royal Caribbean though if you go on a more updated ship… maybe from the class the Navigator of the Seas is in and higher. However, if price is an issue I would suggest going with Carnival as they are less expensive and you can still have a fantastic time.

KapOct18:  Darling Husband and I were looking into cruising on Royal Caribbean, after doing lots of research I turned to their site for more information and reviews from previous cruisers COMPLETELY turned me off to the idea of going on a trip with them, they were 50/50 good/bad and for the amount of money we were going to spend we decided to go an entirely different route with our vacation.

KapOct18:  I’ve been on my fair share of cruises throughout my life…probably been on 15+ or so. Carnival is like the Kia of the cruise world to me. It’s perfectly fine, and theres nothing seriously wrong with it, but if you are wanting something thats a bit more, I’d go with RC, Princess of Celebrity
