I bought the first dress I tried on – the Casablanca 1892. Now, I didn’t buy it right away. I tried on other dresses, but kept going back to that one. I’m not sure if I liked it because it was the first I tried on or what, but it’s nothing like I thought I wanted. I walked in thinking I wanted something simple and white, and something I could wear with my mother’s floor lenth mantilla veil. I walked out with a "froo froo" dress, in the color blush, that doesn’t match the veil! I ordered it almost two months ago, but am having serious panic attacks wondering if I have done the right thing. I love all the "trumpet" shaped dresses I see on here and wonder why I didn’t go for something more like that. Does anyone have pictures of any "real" brides in the Casablanca 1892? Are there any other 1892 brides out there? Any words of advice??

I recently ordered Casablanca 1892 as well. I ordered it in white though and had the sweetheart neckline modified to straight across. I am a little bit nervous about the dress too…I did see some pics a florist was displaying at a bridal show and one of the girls in the photo had the dress on as well. It looked good on her. The dress I tried in the store was in the blush color which I liked as well..I just prefer white for me. Good luck with your wedding!

Here’s the update. I went to a bridal shop that had the 1892 in stock. I tried it on and…it is stunning. All my fears disappeared. It is MY dress. Whew! Mine will arrive around April 24th and I cannot wait!
Something I learned – picking your wedding dress is like picking your husband. Once you have chosen him (or the dress) – STOP LOOKING (and don’t try any others on!!) You will always see one that may look better, sound better, or especially look better with (or on) someone else. But you have chosen yours for a reason. Stop looking and remember all the reasons this is the one for you.
And that’s my two cents. 🙂

I do agree that after you’ve found "the one" and ordered it, stop looking for alternatives! I love my dress, but I specifically told myself that I would not drive myself crazy by continuing to search after I ordered my dress just in case I would find something else and start second guessing it.
I think you did the right thing, though, by going and trying on a sampleof your dress again. Sometimes when too much time passes from the initial try-on, you forget slightly what it looked like exactly on you. For myself, we took pictures of me in the sample (since I knew that was bound to happen).
So glad you’re happy with your choice. I think it is a great dress (and Casablancais a great company – I got my dress from Casablanca too!)

august – I was going to type that maybe you should try it on again – I started having second thoughts about my dress too, but after seeing it on again at the fitting I knew I picked the right one! I’m glad you did it and re-affirmed your choice. It can be hard after you pick a dress to see SO MANY beautiful dresses and wonder if you should have kept looking.
