Based on photos alone I would say the Casablanca, hands down. My jaw dropped when I clicked the link. It’s one of the most stunning dresses I’ve ever seen!

It’s hard to say without pics of you in them – I like the casablanca, but I’m also a casablanca bride… so… I’m probably biased. 🙂

They’re both lovely. If the customization is a nice plus for you, have you seen any others that might not have the concern you noted (the sequins in the tummy).

My #2 dress was 1995- I ended up with the 1827 because I think mermaids are hard to dance in. 1995 is so…. STUNNING. Beware ordering the wrong size though, the lace will not look the same if you have to alter the pattern.

The lace is so stunning on the casablancas though, so romantic and just the right amount of sparkle to not make it cheesy.

I would need to see you in them to vote!

The dress i ended up with is nothing like I thought I wanted, but it looked WAY better on me!

I’m a Mori Lee bride, so I’m probably biased towards the Mori, but I’d need to see you in pics. They’re both gorgeous dresses. I would definitely take into consideration the heaviness of the dress, considering that you’ll be wearing it all day. Whice do you feel better in?

(Incidentally, I ordered my Mori Lee in the short size too, and it’s going to save a bunch on alterations. Yay fellow petite bride!)

They are both gorgeous, I’d go with which ever you feel more comfortable in, which by your comments, sounds like #2.

@bump:  I think I’m about 5’4. I know that we could either order it three inches or six inches shorter than standard. We close six, because I’m wearing flats, and it’s perfect. No hem alteration needed, which is good, because I have a lace hem! I’m wearing Mori Lee 2182, which is an A-line, so I can’t give you much info about the effect on a trumpet skirt — but that’s something to ask your bridal salon.

@bump:  I wouldn’t say it is the most comfortable thing but I wasn’t uncomfortable either. I actually wasn’t too comfortable in any dress that I tried on though. Good luck in your search/decision!! 🙂
