We just had a case up here in New England where a little boy was found, dead, wrapped in a blanket, by the side of a rural road. Yep, the mother had done it. Sick. Now she’s saying she accidentally gave him too much cough syrup. Um, you know what? Then you would have called 911, not dump him in the road!!!

@floridabride12: Ha, I know. I’m lazy. And living under a rock, apparently, since I don’t have cable news and never heard about this case until today!

@mightywombat: hahah, ok. Well that’s the general idea of it. She’s crazy and killed her daughter then partied for 30 days lying to everyone, and blamed a made up person. But it’s totally caught the attention of EVERYONE. Especially in Orlando. People are ate up with it.

Guilty as sin. I can’t believe they are even finding ways to defend this woman.

@VegasSukie: I don’t agree that everyone “has to be ready to be a mother” – should they? absolutely! But in reality, there are going to be unprepared mothers from here to eternity. And 99% of these mothers who aren’t ready, those who stumble, make mistakes, “Teen Mom”‘s – they still aren’t going to kill, stash and dispose of their babies. This girl is just terribly disturbed and this case is unbelievably tragic.

@sit1010: I hadn’t heard about that one, its so sad. I really wish there was some kind of test that could be done before people are able to have children.

Most mothers think it in frustration, but would never do it. In Casey’s case, I think there was a lot of harbored resentment toward her daughter because she had her young and had to give up partying and whatnot to be a mom when she had her. Frustration combined with a deep resentment and probably a dose of sociopathy is probably what made her capable of ACTUALLY killing her daughter… and then feeling no remorse for it.

Those stories make me sick in my stomach. I can’t even begin to imagine how those people work. Do that to your own child??! It makes me want to throw up…

Her defense team is acting mighty weird. I heard something on the news this morning that the girl was found with duct tape on her. If defense is saying the daughter “accidentally died,” why the duct tape then?

@deetroitwhat: If she doesn’t get a good defense, then her conviction doesn’t mean anything. You know this. Don’t say silly things. Or would you prefer she go free because of a mistrial?

@reginaphalange: That’s why so many people believe she did it. Baez, the lead defense attorny, is a nut case and this is his first big trial so he’s a little bit like the small fish in the big ocean.

I’m located in Central Fl as well, and this has been one of those cases that is on the local news every night (and pretty much has been since day 1), which means I think I have heard every possible scenario.
I have always kinda felt that there was probably some sort of accident that may not have been directly Casey’s fault (ie- she didn’t smother her), but that instead of doing the sane thing and calling 911, she realized Caylee was dead, panicked, and then tried to pretend she didn’t even have a daughter. I think she is sociopathic and can convince herself of anything. I also think most pathological liars will never own up to what they did, but instead keep adding to the lies; hence the continued sotry about the babysitter. I doubt she will ever admit guilt, because she really thinks she did nothing wrong.
That said, I think she should be punished to the max and will likely recieve the death penalty. If she doesn’t, she will have to kept in isolation forever becuase this is a huge profile case and she is a big target. People hate her here.

@pinky44: I totally agree with her being a sociopath and pathological liar, but I do think she did it. I think she killed her and then since she’s a sociopath she believes she didn’t. In her mind there really is a nanny who took her and that’s what she’ll always believe. I think in Casey’s mind, Caylee was a hinder to the lifestyle she wanted to have and instead of talking to her parents, she just eliminated the problem (Caylee in her mind) and went about her business thinking everything was fine now.

Anyone still keeping up? I’ve watched it every day. Her mother’s testimony today was absolutely heartbreaking.
