arosebyanyothername:  I’m not sure where you are from but here in Illinois, especially from central Illinois most women drink beer. I actually get odd looks because I don’t like beer. My mom, who is also a beer drinker payed for the alcohol and it was her choice. So, we did 2 kegs. Those who drank wine or other mixed drinks never complained, which was very few of them. I agree with others, an open bar would be nice, but some of us don’t have the money to provide that so we do what we can.

Yochonlove83:  Count me as another person who would never dream of hosting an event that I could not pay for entirely by myself.  I would be personally humiliated to have to use gifts (either offered beforehand by parents or as standard wedding gifts from invited guests) to pay for the wedding.

I DO remember my sister drinking a beer while nursing and told me the doctor advised it.
