Hi All!
We’re planning a casual reception after our ceremony and wanted to know your thoughts! Anything we should remove?
Appetizers
sliders
mac and cheese cups
deviled eggs
cheese tortellini skewers with pesto dipping sauce (thinking of removing)
Buffet
Full Roasted Pig with condiments and mini brioche rolls
Grilled chicken with papaya mango salsa
New England Maple Baked Beans
Double Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Cornbread
Garden salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette
Dessert & Coffee
S’mores
(Thinking of adding pudding shooter)
Thanks!

Are the apps being served with the rest of the buffet?
If they aren’t, I would consider adding a few more sides to your buffet.
Otherwise, everything else looks great!

adding potentially a fruit or veggy tray as well.

I LOVE this menu. Who is your caterer? I’m having a really hard time finding someone that “gets” what we want and can offer a decent price.
I would remove the cheese tortilini and sub in something light like a fruit skewer- that way you still get the summer “eatin’ off a skewer” vibe.
Seriously though. Tell me about your caterer! What are they charging for a menu like this?

If you’re already considering taking out the tortellini skewers, I would do it – you already have a pasta appy with the mac & cheese which matches the rest of your menu better. Instead, I’d consider doing some kind of fresh veggie appetizer because otherwise your appetizers are a bit on the heavier side. Maybe a fruit or veggie skewer instead if you like the skewer idea?
I’d also add one hot green vegetable side to the buffet because you only have the salad as a veggie right now, and it’s good to have one hot and one cold veggie. Otherwise it all looks good, that whole pig sounds great!

Agree with PP, you have mac and cheese so no need for tortellini too. I would do veggie/fruit trays too (fruit skewers would be super cute!). But your menu sounds delicious, can I come?

@compromise: Looks great! I would add a second dessert, not everyone likes s’mores… I would probably avoid a s’more as a guest just due to the risk of getting marshmellow/ crumbs on my face haha (I do like them!)
