Can you give us more of an idea of what he will be wearing? My Darling Husband wore gray suit pants with a matching vest, white collared shirt, a tie, and brown dress shoes.

Shesaidyes:  Did you try Google “groom wearing sweater”? All of these looks could be worn without the tie.

I wouldn’t worry too much about finding examples. If he won’t dress up, you already know what a sweater and pants or jeans are going to look like.

Shesaidyes:  omg tell him to pull up his big boy pants and do it for the day. Thats what being an adult means, sometimes doing things we dont like! what does he do for funerals? my fiancee is wearing suit pants and jacket( which he will probably take off anyway. ) and dress shirt with tie.

Khakis or jeans + dress shirt still looks okay, though that’s because jeans matches the rustic setting and khakis match the beach look. Maybe go for khakis plus nice shoes and dress shirt for the courthouse.

Darling Husband wore jeans, a shirt and tie. Had it been cold he’d have probably worn a light jumper, shirt and jeans but it was the start of september and surpisingly hot!

My guy wore a button down shirt with sleeves rolled up and no tie and some chino type dress pants. It was really important to us that we both be comfortable and actually look like ourselves in what we were wearing.

Maybe one of these alternatives would work for both you and your Fiance:

VictorianChick:  There are a ton of casual options nowadays for grooms to wear that are acceptable. I don’t think someone should wear something they don’t feel comfortable in on their wedding day if they don’t want to. The level of formality of a wedding isn’t always like a funeral, and the bride and groom get to decide on the level of formality.

My fiancé plans to wear a light grey suit top paired with brown pants – pretty darn cute and not crazy formal at all, perfect for him and our casual wedding day.

xdanielle:  caual wedding attire should not mean fleece.  one could argue that they should be comfortable and I getvit. no one wants to be hot and sweat, cold or wear constricting clothing, but its also a wedding. some of the options I think look nice, but not a fan of the sweaters.   if no one agrees with me, thats fine, but clearly the op is concerned or she wouldnt have started the thread. my advise was a little different than others, and she can ignore it, if she chooses 🙂

I loved the way the boys looked! It was casual but very us and they looked sharp! Just new jeans, white button ups and ties. We haven’t regretted it for a second even!
