Hi! This is my first post on Weddingbee 🙂
I just ordered my invitation design from an etsy seller (these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/109350060/wedding-invitation-printable-custom-diy).
The wording is very casual and cute, and it fits well with the theme of our wedding. It will be a rustic, DIY, BBQ-style reception after a simple church wedding. Nobody in my circle expects formal invitations, and we’re not really the kind of people who “request the honour of your presence” anyway. I just have one issue with the way the invitation is worded in the template, in the way it switches from 3rd person (Bride & Groom are getting hitched!) to 1st person (We would be delighted for you to come and join us).
I tried “They would be delighted for you to come and join them” but it sounds super awkward.
Any suggestions on how to word this invite, and still keep the fun casual vibe? Should I just keep the original wording?
FYI, I will NOT be putting registry info at the end. This is just the designer’s template, not my actual invite. Just thought I’d throw that out there, because I posted on another wedding board and instead of helpful advice, all I got was snark about how “OMG tacky!” the invite was.
Thanks in advance.
