We are having a very casual wedding at a lake, iIm wearing a blue cardi and blue converse, and my groom is even wearing dark jeans. Is this dress too glam/glitzy?I love that its hi low, but i just dunno, what do you guys think given the setting and accessories? he wedding is in october.

I don’t see this looking right with converse. It looks a little night club to me.

I think this particular dress might be too glitzy, but something without the sparkle might work well.

For casual, I’d suggest a highlow hem thats a little lower. above the knee communicates night club or party style… but perhaps thats what you’re going for. When you said at a lake with jeans and converse, I think more like this:

I agree with @minniemluv:. I just don’t think that style of dress will really work very well with what you have planned.

Warning: high-low dresses + flats (esp. sneakers) tend to make your legs look stubby if they aren’t a mile long/super svelte. I would recommend wedges if you don’t want to wear heels.
BUT that being said, wear what reflects your personal style. I think the pretty dress + casual sneaker style can look pretty cute when done right (it’s just very Tumblr-esque to me).

@artsyfartsyweirdo: +1 that’s very pretty and looks like a dress for a lake ceremony

I found these at Unique Vintage. Lots of cute short dresses.

@AutumnBella: That dress seems kind of clubby to me. I prefer some of the PPs suggestions.

Or what about tea length?
this one would look cute with your sneakers! (From Dolly Couture)

By the way, a shorter high-low hem with flats/sneakers looks better for your legs + overall shape (like the dress you already have). Since you won’t be wearing heels, a longer hem would only serve to shorten the look of your legs.
For the look you’re going for, I think the detailing on the dress is a bit too high school Homecoming-y (esp. paired with Chucks).
I would suggest either a more casual dress to complete your look:
Or to go a bit more glam to really establish the juxtaposition:

Honestly I luv the dress if its casual the touch of glitz on it maybe compliment it with a similar comb in the hair would b fab u def need a simple heel tho if its possible bcz I kno u want the converses but with any dress it will steal the attention so b careful btw I went to rutgers u. I think that your dress just won’t look right with converse.
Here are some I found on google that I think look super cute with converse.

Wedding Dresses with Sneakers can be tricky… as someone else mentioned if the sneakers have too much of an “ankle element” they can make your legs look short & stubby.
If you can find a sneaker that that doesn’t do that… so more low in the ankle (aka Ked shaped) than Basketball shaped.
You might want to GOOGLE – Wedding Dress with Sneakers – to get some ideas on what other Brides have done, and what type of looks (Dress with Sneakers) that go together well / you like
Hope this helps,
