we adopted a cat two months ago from a rescue, she has been abused in the past and needs a lot of love and attention, shes only just 2 and wants to play lots. Do you have any ideas for games to keep her entertained, she plays fetch with balls of paper, has several mice toys and ribbons and strings but im a bit worried that shes getting bored

@Weebee1234: have you tried cat nip? or cat tunnels?

Laser pointers are always fun! And if you hide litte treats places then have her find them every once and a while while chasing the dot, it will be great fun for her!

Boxes are always popular. Those feather toys on the end of a stick are good. My cat loves them! Even a random bit of fluff on the floor becomes a toy for her.
Good on you for adopting a kitty too. I got my first cat when he was 8-9 years old and was treated really badly by his past owner. He never played. He was too scared. His past owner would lock him in the shed and he would break out and come to us. FYI she was a vet nurse! Once he came to us he had a good life and plenty of cuddles!
So good to hear that you are giving this kitty a second chance at a good life!

My cat loves all of things you mentioned having. One thing I do is throw a blanket over one of his toys on a string and slowly drag it. He likes to pounce on it and look/reach under it to grab it.Some people dont do this because the cat may go after you feet when you are sleeping.:-o

My cat attacks my feet, even when they aren’t moving. She’s been known to randomly attack the bed when no one is in it.

I have three cats. All of their toys are pretty cheap & keep them plenty entertained!
They have a tunnel, it looks like this:
These little toy chicks that chirp when you touch them are usually Easter toys to kids but my cats love them:
They love these balls with bells in them:
I know it doesn’t seem like much (& it was all cheap) but they’re happy!
If you think your cat is getting bored really easy this interactive toy is $13 bucks & looks pretty fun for a cat!
Also an interactive mouse toy, under $4!
& One more link, this is where we got out cats tunnel (same one!)

the second one that you posted is the ONLY toy i have ever bought my cat that she actually plays with! haha i felt like such a proud mom when she actually used it.

My cat’s favorite toys are probably her cubes (similar to the tunnel), her feather stick thing, her kickeroo, and empty plastic easter eggs.

thank you for adopting a “hard to adopt” animal and loving it so much! 😀
My recue abused cat LOVES shoe strings, pens, empty boxes, toliet paper rolls, and toy fish poles (you can get these at dollar tree). i dont buy nice toys anymore because our cats love to play with household stuff way more!
