Aw, he looks just like my Bubba cat!  Maybe he just missed you and his routine of being home and has a new found appreciation and desire to be near you?

hollyberry4 :  it could be because you are pregnant. Animals become instinctively more protective when their owners are pregnant. He’s snuggling with his new sibling!

My cat’s extra clingy and cuddly after we get back from a trip. I’m sure she misses us. She’s also more cuddly when it’s cold. Could be one of those things?

This is so adorable. My cat is always like this when we go out of town, even though we have a sitter for her, and she was especially crazy with me when I was pregnant 😉 She slept on my belly all the time…protecting her little brother.

hollyberry4 :  Since I’ve been pregnant my cat sleeps right next to my side all night.

My cat is like this when we get home after being away for a while too. If there are no other behaviour changes that you’ve noticed, it’s probably just that.

Also – what a sweety, he looks just like my cat!

When my senior cat (~14) was suddenly a lap cat I asked the vet and she said when older cats feel vulnerable in some way, they might do that – cant see as good, arthritis, etc.

For mine, turned out she was begging for food. As soon as I started giving her the good stuff routinely (wet food instead of just dry food) she had no use for my lap again.

hollyberry4 :  Ever since I got pregnant my cat has been up my ass. Recently, since I’m 31 weeks, she has been protecting me. She follows me around everywhere. Monday I started to have Braxton hicks contractions and she was right by me meowing because I said ouch. She was weaving in and out of my legs. Once it was done she didn’t leave my side. She sits by my feet now and follows me into my room to sleep. She is always in front of me guarding me and is very protective. I can’t imagine when I’m going into labor how she would be.

hollyberry4 :  oh yeah the dog has gone crazy since I’m pregnant, it’s almost alarming.  The cat definitely has gotten more up my ass..  But I really like it, I’ll be sad when the cat goes back to being more aloof

My first pregnancy, my cats were up my ass 24 hours a day! It was adorable. Then I brought home the baby, who swiftly set about ruining their lives with his enthusiastic cuddling attempts. (And by taking our attention away from All Cats, All The Time.) Now I’m pregnant again and they want nothing to do with me. Lol.
