A couple days is plenty there. I wouldn’t do more than 2-3 nights tops because there isn’t a ton to do.2 would be ideal if your going in the summer. That’s probably too many if your going in the winter because if it’s not warm out there isn’t much you will want to do and it’s pretty much a ghost town. If you are looking at a longer trip you could always do a couple nights there and a couple in Orange County since you can depart from Dana point to catalina. There are lots of little bed and brakfasts there- Check out Hotel St. Lauren, that’s where I’ve stayed before. They have a couple rooms that have big patio’s overlooking all the ocean and Avalon and it’s close walking distance to everything.  As far as stuff to do, a lot of B&B’s a mini excursion.  There is glass bottom boat tours, underwater boat tours, renting kayaks or bikes. If your over 25 rent a golf cart, they give you a map that takes you to realy cool places and cool look outs, that is def the best thing to do there.  The beaches are pretty tiny but if you don’t live near the ocean you’ll probably love it but don’t except nice clear warm water, its pretty much the same as southern california.  (thats where I am from and was silly to think it would be different since its an “island” but its just off the coast an hour ha) But its a really cute charming and romantic place and would be a great mini honeymoon place but if your coming from far away I’d add on a couple days in either Orange County or San Diego to do more things.

I went over there for the first time in late October. I’ve lived in So Cal my whole life and I can’t believe how long I waited to go. It was a cold weekend, so there wasn’t much to do. We did do the Eco Tour which takes you around the island for seveal hours. Mini golf was kinds cool too. Maybe because it was a cold weekend in their off season it didn’t seem like much to do but eat.

My SO and I went there as part of a cruise last year and we couldn’t even entertain ourselves for 8 hours there :/ Maybe we just didn’t know about the right stuff to do, but we were not fans.

We went on our honeymoon for a day of our cruise.  Obviously didn’t stay overnight, so I don’t have any hotel recommendations.  There seemed like a lot to do though! We went parasailing then just walked around, the island is beautiful, definitely very laid back too.  I would love to go back!
