For our wedding we are doing a small casual backyard BBQ style at a state park (very laid back not formal etc).
We are going with a local BBQ place that does catering, though I doubt that weddings are one of their main things. I’ve been in contact with the catering manager several times through text and phone, and from what I understand we reserved a date and a rough estimate/food order for our wedding. The problem is, I have never recieve any confirmation of this, aside from a text message saying I’m all set. I was expecting some sort of email or something listing the details/date of my order. I also had to give them a credit card to keep on file as there is a cancellation fee after a certain date, but I was told I wouldn’t be charged until I give the final count (about a week before the wedding).
I’ve contacted her again twice now after the initial order asking for some sort of confirmation, but to no avail. She keeps saying she will email it to me but I have yet to receive it, now 5 days later after contacting her a second time.
Is it normal to expect some sort of written confirmation? Or should our phone conversation be enough? If I do decide to contact her again I think I will ask to meet her at the restaurant in person. I admit I do not need confirmation other than for my own piece of mind as we are doing serve yourself buffet style and therefore aren’t including food options on the invitations. Should I let this one go?
